Recruiting New Research Assistants

We are excited to announce that we have the wonderful opportunities where students work with faculty members on research projects. Student research assistants will be compensated for their work while gaining research experience. If you are selected, you can work 60 hours at $18 per hour during Fall 2018 ($1,080 for one semester of work).

Summer/Fall 2018 DT Textbooks/iPad Schedule

This is the schedule for the end of Summer 2018 collection and Fall 2018 Distribution of textbooks and iPads.  MPA Services is located in Suite 523.07 Haaren Hall (T- building).

We will be collecting and distributing textbooks/tablets from Monday, July 23rd to Saturday, September 15th, 2018.

As always, you must bring a state or JJC student ID and a copy of your course schedule when you come to pick up your textbooks/iPad.

New MPA Directors

Effective July 1st, Professor Bill Pammer is the Director of the MPA in Inspection and Oversight program and Professor Elaine Lu is the Director of the MPA in Public Policy and Administration program.

They replace Professors Marilyn Rubin and Ned Benton who have been Directors of the programs for more than 25 years.

 

New MPA Newsletter and Advising Website

We have moved the MPA Newsletter and Advising website to CUNY Commons. The new internet address is: https://jjcmpa.commons.gc.cuny.edu and the old address will automatically forward to the new address for several months. The new site will include a section for MPA Advising and MPA Services, as well as links to MPA Course pages.  (more…)

US News Ranking – Top 15%

In the most recent US News and World Report reputational survey of graduate programs, we have moved up to the 15th percentile, into the list of the top 50 of the 282 MPA programs as ranked by NASPAA and APPAM member schools.   We are in the highest ranking percentile of any John Jay graduate program ranked by US News and World Report.  As further indication of our national recognition, in 2014, the MPA Program in Public Policy and Administration won the NASPAA Diversity Award.  In the same year, the MPA Program in Inspection and Oversight won the NASPAA Social Equity award.
