PAD 768: Governing The Just City: Urban Policy & Politics
This course explores how to lead and foster a just city, beginning with an historical survey of U.S. urban policy and governance, followed by a focus on key topics for municipal leaders and stakeholders, including housing, crime, inequality, diversity, employment, education and health. We will utilize scholarship, media, and data on contemporary urban issues to familiarize students with urban policy challenges, enabling you to tailor your subsequent specialization electives to your professional and scholarly interests.

Housing Court Answers is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting for the rights of unrepresented litigants in Housing Court. Housing Court Answers provides information on landlord/tenant issues at information tables in NYC’s five Housing Courts, through a hotline, and for NYCHA tenants at 250 Broadway. We are excited to announce that we have the wonderful opportunities where students work with faculty members on research projects. Student research assistants will be compensated for their work while gaining research experience. If you are selected, you can work 60 hours at $18 per hour during Fall 2018 ($1,080 for one semester of work).
This is the schedule for the end of Summer 2018 collection and Fall 2018 Distribution of textbooks and iPads. MPA Services is located in Suite 523.07 Haaren Hall (T- building).
We will be collecting and distributing textbooks/tablets from Monday, July 23rd to Saturday, September 15th, 2018.
As always, you must bring a state or JJC student ID and a copy of your course schedule when you come to pick up your textbooks/iPad.
Effective July 1st, Professor Bill Pammer is the Director of the MPA in Inspection and Oversight program and Professor Elaine Lu is the Director of the MPA in Public Policy and Administration program.
They replace Professors Marilyn Rubin and Ned Benton who have been Directors of the programs for more than 25 years.
